How to Turn a Men on with Scents

I was thumbing through the book, ‘Aromatherapy – A complete Guide to the healing Art.’ by Kathi Keville and Mindy Green when I came across a chart that was created by Alan R. Hirsh, MD.

The chart was divided into two sections. One section labeled ‘Scents that Turn on Women’ and the second section labeled ‘ Scents that Turn on Men’.

The information that it listed was beyond amazing – check it out.

Scents That Turn on Women

13 % licorice or cucumber
11 % lavender or pumpkin pie spice
4 % baby powder and chocolate
1% women’s perfume
Ok, nothing to exciting (no, pun intended) about that list so lets find out the charts say about men.

Scents That Turn on Men

40% lavender and pumpkin pie spice
31.5 % licorice and doughnut
20 % pumpkin pie spice and doughnut
19.5 % orange
18 % lavender and doughnut
13 % licorice and cola
13% licorice
12.5 % doughnut and cola
9% buttered popcorn
2% cranberry

After seeing this report I immediately thought, ‘Wow, I do love me some doughnuts’ – then the thought came to me.. ‘OH GOD, those poor women who work at Dunkin’ Donuts’.

Growing up I have always heard that women wear make-up and perfume to attract a partner. If that is true – will this chart change the way women attract men? Will women start rubbing doughnuts on themselves and washing their hair with buttered popcorn?

I guess the real question is why do men love junk food so much that it turns them on?

10 Powerful Ways to Attract Men

Take control of your dating life and embrace these attributes (to the best of your ability) to start dating the men of your dreams and to simply empower yourself as a woman.

10) Be Playful
Guys love girls that they can joke around with. Most guys want girls who don't take themselves too seriously because this makes guys more comfortable. Start giving guys a few playful punches to the arm, a tussling of the hair, a poke in the waist, etc. Knowing how to playfully flirt and how to use a sarcastic tone well is very key in developing a fun personality that will cause guys to feel attraction for you. If you can take a playful insult and maybe deliver a few playful insults of your own, you'll be well on your way to magnetize men.

9) Smell Good that attract men
Your breath and your perfume are absolutely crucial. Bad breath on girls is probably one of the biggest things that can completely turn off a man and I've had a lot of prior experience. Body odor is just as bad. Although it sounds cliched that I'm telling you to keep your breath fresh and your perfume handy, this is actually a very important aspect of your hygiene that you need to MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU CONTROL. I once met a really cute girl but once I smelled her absolutely RANCID breath I just cringed and got out of that situation.

8) Be Feisty
Feisty girls are girls that don't let guys take control of them. Guys love what they can't have easily, and having a little bit of fesity attitude helps. Of course you've got to gauge the guy, because there are some guys who absolutely hate feistiness. Most of these guys have some kind of issues with self-esteem or control, and thus, probably not worth your time. Do not let him have what he wants ALL the time; instead show him that you are going to make some choices. However, DO NOT be domineering or try to be the boss. Men need a certain level of control and they need to validate themselves as manly men.

7) Look Good
Guys are very unlike girls. A majority of our attraction comes from how a girl looks. Some of you may be thinking, "But what if I don't already look good?" There's hope for you ladies. Unlike guys, you have makeup and clothes that help A LOT. I've seen time and time again that makeup can completely reivent a person's look. Invest a little money and time on learning how to dress well + plus look good. Get that gym membership and start dieting if you're not happy with your body.

6) Teach him something
It is very attractive if a girl can teach something well, especially if it's something that may interest us. For example, if you can teach a musical instrument or a sport (think female-oriented sports like tennis and volleyball). This also allows for you two to have a new mutual interest and mutual activity. If you don't have anything that you could teach, you also should think about evaluating your life. Do you have a well-balanced life full of interesting things or are you boring and one-dimensional?

5) Be Interesting
Men can't be expected to always keep a conversation going. You also need to have a few interesting topics to talk about. When a woman can be incredibly interesting, men will be attracted despite what the woman looks like. Being interesting also includes your lifestyle. If you don't do anything fun, this can turn off a man. Having more interests and being a well-rounded person will help you to be more interesting and therefore help you to attract men.

4) Make him jealous
As mentioned prior, men love what they can't have. So when you display to him that you have several options, then this really makes him want you. This is akin to playing hard-to-get, however, you do need to show interest because many men will move on if they don't feel like they've planted a seed of interest in you. This means flirt with him, but also let him know that you have other men in your life that can easily sweep you away if he doesn't act.

3) Don't congregate in crowds
This tip is mostly for the ladies that like to go clubbing a lot to find men. If you want to be approachable, don't go with too many other women. Being with 3 girls or with some guy-friends makes it very nerve-racking for guys to approach.Guys love to approach 2-women groups and single people especially. If you do go with a few friends, make sure you have time to separate yourself and maybe go chill by the bar.

2) Initiate
Don't be afraid to make a move on guys. Although I usually don't recommend it, there are some guys out there that are shy and need a pretty big sign before they start making the move (ASIAN GUYS ESPECIALLY). The best way to let a guy know that you are interested is to ASK HIM if he wants to hang out. You don't need to make it a big deal or call it a date. Just ask him if he wants to go get some lunch or a coffee and get to know him. Men believe that it is very "refreshing" when women ask them out. However, if you really can't initiate it, or are too shy, you should give him an opportunity to ask you out. For example, telling him that you are really bored or telling him you can't wait to see a certain movie.

1) Be Bubbly
Laughing a lot, making cute expressions, and being the life of the party are surefire ways to get noticed by guys. Being bubbly also helps present your personality as a warm, friendly, very nice person, which is extremely attractive. You probably know a few girlfriends that are the definition of "bubbly." They are very social, talkative, sweet people that just immensely brighten up people's days. Be that girl and you will find yourself with a lot of options in the man department.

What perfume should I wear to catch a man (scents that attract men)

This is a question that perfume bloggers receive fairly often. It is generally met with derision from perfume lovers, who loathe the way that perfume has been marketed as a tool of seduction. While I do agree that perfume is hardly a man-pokéball, I maintain that perfume can enhance your attractiveness to others. So I have put together this list of guidelines. If they don’t work, you can always try Pon Farr For Women.

1) Do not wear childish perfumes. Trust me, you do not want your boy/girlfriend to develop erotic associations with a perfume that he or she is just as likely to smell on middle schoolers. Most well-adjusted, healthy adults who are not one commercial break away from having their house raided by Benson and Stabler are not attracted to anything too closely associated with pre-teens. This means nothing by Taylor Swift. Nothing by Justin Beiber. Nothing by Paris Hilton. Nothing by a Kardashian or a Jonas Brother. Nothing by an Olsen twin. Nothing by a Real Housewife. Nothing by Snooki. No perfume bottles topped with an oversize plastic flower. No perfumes with names that contain the words “bling”, “swag”, “sensual”, “bombshell”, “lollipop”, “sparkle”, or “sugar”.

2) Do not wear any of the more common classic fragrances on a first date. These fragrances include Chanel No. 5, Guerlain Shalimar, Jean Patou Joy, Lanvin Arpège, and Estée Lauder Youth Dew. I am not saying that these perfumes cannot be lethal weapons of seduction. But they pose a higher risk of reminding the object of your desire of an older female relative, such as their mother or grandmother, who may have worn the same perfume. This is great if the object of your desire has an unresolved Oedipal Complex, and probably not so great otherwise. Less common older fragrances, such as Guerlain L’Heure Bleue or Mitsouko, are still fair game.

3) Do not follow that classic Chanel adage, “Spray perfume where you want to be kissed”. I have no idea where Coco got that one. Perfume tastes bad.

4) Choose an intriguing perfume. Your perfume should either help you stand out from the other women in the room or reveal a surprising new facet of your personality to a prospect who has kept you in the Friend Zone for far too long. The right perfume can help to bring out your multi-dimensionality, and the resulting intrigue could be just what you need to spark a man or woman’s interest. For example, I am kind of weird. And not the endearing, “adorkable”, Zooey Deschanel kind of weird.

Just the regular kind of weird. The “Oh, I’d love to go out tonight, but The Crow is on SyFy” kind of weird. The “my speech impediment is commonly mistaken for a Bulgarian accent” kind of weird. In addition to being tremendously geeky, which is generally not considered to be a very feminine trait, I am also intelligent. This combination intimidates the hell out of most guys my age. As a result, my perfume choices tend to be sweet, comforting fragrances. Some of these include Guerlain L’Heure Bleue, Kenzo Amour Le Parfum, Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille, and L de Lolita Lempicka. These perfumes hint at what lurks beneath my intense Mario Kart skills: a pink-loving, cupcake-baking girl who emits high-pitched squeals whenever confronted with pictures of a kitty.

What Paris Hilton uses to attact men?

Paris Hilton uses her own perfumes to attract men

The 29-year-old beauty – who has released a total of 10 perfumes during her media career – admits her latest scent Tease is great for attracting men.

Asked what she uses to “tease” a new man – such as rumoured boyfriend Cy Waits - Paris said: “By spraying on some of my Tease perfume of course!
“I think just by being confident and believing in yourself. Having that certain flirty look you have to get down. You can practice in the mirror.”

Discussing her current relationship situation with the Las Vegas nightclub owner, she told Hollyscoop: “I’m really happy right now. I’ve just been travelling and having so much fun. Life is really good.”
Paris – who split with ‘The Hills’ star Doug Reinhardt earlier this year – was spotted enjoying Cy’s company on a recent commercial shoot for Devassa Beer in Long Beach, California.
An onlooker said: “They are clearly enjoying every minute of their new relationship and aren’t afraid to show their feelings and affection for one another.”

5 scents that attract men

Find out what scents make you to attract men

Wouldn't it be lovely if you could simply put a dash of perfume on yourself and men will be held spellbound by you? You can be Pied Piper of Hamelin with men following you wherever you go.

Well, let me tell you what scents that attract men and get the desired attention you crave. You will no longer be the ugly duckling. All the men will want to chat with you and want your companionship. You will be the limelight of the party or wherever you go.

1. Cinnamon

Cinnamon is native to Sri Lanka and South India. Men simply love this scent. Cinnamon is considered to be a aphrodisiac. It is similar to our own sexual secretion or pheromones. I read that just a drop of Cinnamon oil rubbed onto your genitals produces powerful sex stimulation. Not sure how safe that is though as you should never ever put any pure essential oil there. It would be far safer to put a few drops ofcinnamon oil in the bath instead and soak in its fragrance. Research studies from the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago found that men were attracted by the scent of cinnamon in the presence of aroma of baked food. Cinnamon has been used since biblical times as a perfume. There is an episode in the Parables where the seductress lured her prey to a bed filled with Cinnamon. What accounts for Cinnamon's attractive scent? The distinctive odour comes cinnemaldehyde a yellowish oily liquid which is released when the cinnamon bark is crushed. There are other chemical components that contribute to cinnamons's complex aroma such as eugenol (clove), cineole (eucalyptus) and linalol (lily of the valley)

2. Vanilla

Vanilla is a very versatile plant. It can be drunk , eaten and smelled. It is an aphrodisiac. It has a sensual aroma that reminds one of fresh food in the kitchen. It's an ingredient in sultry, exotic, and mysterious Oriental fragrances. As early as 1762 Bezaar Zimmermann wrote that "No fewer than 342 impotent men, by drinking vanilla decoctions, had changed into astonishing lovers of at least as many women." Currently, vanilla is popular as a fragrance from body care, candles to air freshener. Neurologist Alan Hirsch of the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation in Chicago conducted a test to understand the impact of smell upon sexual arousal. He discovered the smell which arouses mature men the most was vanilla smell.

3. Lavender

The Lavender plant contains 180 constituents. The perfume industry describes its scent as green, hay like sweetness and fruity. Some studies shows that scent of lavender to be the most arousing to men and may be useful against impotence. Since ancient times, Lavender has been associated with love and romance. Cleopatra used the seductive powers of lavender to seduce Julius Caeser and Mark Anthony. In more recent times lavender is placed under the bed of newlyweds to ensure hot passion.

4. Frankincense and 5. Myrrh

Frankincense grows as small trees or shrubs which are found in Southern Arabian countries like Yemen and Oman as well as in Northeast Africa ( Somalia). Its resin contain chemicals which is virtually identical to our own sexual secretion. The aroma from Frankincense stimulates the senses and heighten your senses. It enhances communication between the lovers. It supports your respiratory and digestive system and has skin healing properties too. Frankincense is also used in Chinese medicine to internally stimulate the stomach and promote digestion.

5 Secrets to Attract the Opposite Sex

Want to quintuple your odds of winning in the dating game?

We surveyed a variety of top experts and learned five unbelievably effective secrets to make the opposite sex come running.

Here's how you can use them to work for you that attract the men or women:
  1. Be the Center of Attention
Want to be the one who gets noticed? Stand in the center of the room. According to Dr. Albert Mehrabian, the author of several books and nationally-known expert in the field of spacial psychology, where you are in a room (and what you're doing) has a lot to do with your ability to attract the opposite sex. Where should you be for the highest impact and the greatest number of interested cuties? Smack-dab in the center of the room, standing up and moving around a bit. (But don't pace a track on the carpet for goodness sake...)

If you're in a bar or nightclub, the best place to be is at one of the corners on the bar. Not only will you meet more people, but, according to Mehrabian, bartenters tend to gravitate toward the corners as well. Interesting conversation AND a full drink? You'll feel like you've died and gone to dating heaven. The worst place to be seen? Hanging out near the wall or sitting at a table. That hot stranger approaching your table and asking "may I join you" only happens in the movies.
  2. The Color Lure
What color can you wear to compel the opposite sex to approach you?

According to Color Consultant Leatrice Eiseman, Director of the Pantone Color Institute and author of Colors For Your Every Mood, women are attracted to men wearing the color blue. And why wouldn't we be? According to Eiseman, guys who frequently wear blue are "stable, faithful, constant and always there." The blue guy is a fantastic candidate for a long-term relationship -- someone who's dependable, momogomous and can match his own clothes.

And what about the ladies? Eiseman says women should wear a pink- peach to make themselves most approachable. The color is "very flattering to most skin tones, it gives you healthy glow," and according to Eiseman, projects "a little vulnerability which brings out something protective in men."

Want to wear a color that weeds out guys who can't handle strong women? Try a deep red, burgundy or plum. Men who aren't attracted to strong women will steer clear.

Of all the colors, red is the most sensual. But, wear red with caution. "Red is the color of sex and power," says Eiseman. Red adds an element of excitement and attracts two types of men - men interested in sex, and men attracted to powerful women. Sure, you'll probably have to fend off a lot of freaks, but you could also end up attracting a guy that isn't threatened by the fact that you make a bigger salary.

Concerned your wardrobe is driving people away? Stay away from what Eiseman calls "squished caterpillar yellow-green" which is said to repel both sexes equally.
  3. Body Talk That Reels 'Em In
How do you use body language to attract the opposite sex? If you're a woman, the key is to make yourself approachable. According to nationally-respected body language expert and professional speaker, Patti Wood, you want to make yourself a "safe" (read approachable) target. How do you accomplish that? Don't take up a lot of space (which is a sign of power and superiority.) Wood says, "we are strong women, but remember, we're trying to get a man to come over and talk to us." She explains, "you have to show you have room for someone else in your life."

In addition, Wood says "to be very approachable women should stand with their feet no farther than 6 inches apart with toes pointed slightly inward. " Other key moves, the nod and the head tilt - signal you're listening to what the other person has to say.

For men, appearing more dominant effectively draws the attraction of women. To attract women, stand with your feet 6-10 inches apart, and toes pointing outward. Feel free to take up some space. For men who are victims of the "nice guy" badge, or who appear to be too submissive to attract women, try taking your Y chromosome out for a spin. According to Mehrabian, men should "try wearing bulkier or more conservative hairstyles or clothing," hold your head up, and speed up your speech and gestures to be more assertive.

Body language tips for both sexes: Don't fold your arms and don't chew on gum, ice or your fingernails. According to Wood, the chewing indicates anxiety or frustration, neither of which are very attractive emotions.
  4. The Power of a Smile
Psychology and body language experts agree that one of the most important things you can do to make yourself more attractive (and approachable) is to smile. Not a great big plastic game-show smile, just your normal "I'm having a great time and I'm happy to be here" face will do the trick. According to Wood, "the smile is the international signal of friendliness."
  5. Tempting With Scent
Studies show that men associate the scents of cinnamon and vanilla with love. To make the scents work for you that attract men or women, try baking some ready-made cinnamon rolls about an hour before your date arrives, or, wear a cinnamon-vanilla scented perfume (there's a fabulous one called "Man Magnet" at www.stopgettingdumped.com.) Aromatherapy experts have long-believed cinnamon to be an aphrodisiac. According to Laura Davimes, aromatherapy and herb expert , and owner of Herban Avenues, "certain aromatic plants exude oils similar to our own sexual secretions or pheromones. Wearing cinnamon/vanilla blends increases the presence of pheromone-like substances and dramatically increases attraction."

The scent of a woman? Women, according to a recent study, are attracted to a black licorice scent. So, be sure to pick up licorice or Good 'n Plenty at the theater snack bar. And, if you're at a club and happen to spill a little Jaggermeister on your shirt, don't worry about the stain, just consider it your lucky night.
